Real Madrid striker Cristiano Ronaldo — and Portugal’s largest international tourism and leisure group Pestana Hotel, — has united to create Cristiano Ronaldo-themed hotels which are named after Pestana CR7 Hotels.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Pestana Hotel Group opened the first CR7 hotel on July in Funchal, Madeira Island. The opening marks the ‘kick-off’ of the partnership between Dionísio Pestana and Cristiano Ronaldo – who both hail from Madeira.

The next Pestana CR7 is scheduled to open in Lisbon in the Historic Downtown later this year, with two more to follow in Madrid on the Gran Vía, and New York steps from Times Square in 2017.

He is clearly considering his life after football, as he unveiled a range of CR7 branded hotels valued at US$80 million as his latest business venture.

“My job is to play football but life won’t always be like this. I have to dedicate myself to this new project and I have the best team in the world around me to help. A person like me, I’m a fighter, ambitious and always striving for more.” Cristiano Ronaldo said.

The boutique hotel in Madeira combines Art Deco with contemporary style and is designed with the modern day traveller in mind. There are high-speed Wi-Fi in all indoor and outdoor areas and each room include Apple TV as well as Bluetooth audio and HDMI connections.

Guests have the possibility to unwind at the rooftop pool and deck offering amazing views over the marina and hillside that characterize the city of Funchal. The lounge will offer a menu of vibrant cocktails and the restaurant will include an open oven concept for a unique dining experience.

Pestana CR7 Hotels feature just 49 keys with 25 CR type rooms, 23 CR superior rooms, and one CR7 Suite. Moreover, the CR7 Suite includes a PlayStation 4, Virtual Reality Glasses and games, and even equipment for cardio workouts complete with a self-developed workout plan.

There is also a customised programme to “Get in Shape” at the outdoor gym and sauna for those keen on maintaining a healthy lifestyle during their stay in CR7 Hotels.

Cristiano Ronaldo has put into words his feeling about the project as: “This is a winning team, a winning project!
