VPLP Design is known from ocean racing, in particular in the latest Transat Jacques Vabre (Macif, Sodebo, PRB), in the 71st Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race with 100’ Comanche, with BMW Oracle, winner in the 33rd America’s Cup or Superyachts they have designed: 138’ Douce France, 145’ Hemisphere (World’s largest sailing catamaran), 110’ Mousetrap.
The design team believes that innovation is essential, and that is the reason why VPLP develops, every year, a concept project, to be first presented at the Monaco Yacht Show. At the MYS 2014, it was revealed the MANIFESTO project; a 234’ superyacht catamaran. This year it has been presented a 86 m Superyacht Hybrid trimaran called “KOMOREBI”.
KOMOREBI is the quintessence of yachting, luxury and space. This hybrid trimaran is the perfect answer to comfort at sea, space, stability, low running costs as well as a big step towards a clean wake.
An efficient and highly stable vessel capable of crossing oceans but agile and shallow-drafted enough to enter small places. it is not a sailing vessel, nor a pure power yacht, but a little bit of both. Moreover, its fully-automated wings are powerful enough to drive her at 15 knots with 20 knots of wind with no engine on and save at least 30% of fuel on a hybrid mode in a crossing.
It is absolutely true to state that each particular area is designed to suit a special moment of the day, offering privacy and conviviality for everyone on board. In addition to this luxury of space, trimaran offers so many more options.
CovetED Magazine hopes that the readers of our luxury magazine will pay attention to the uniqueness of this vessel, as this Hybrid trimaran is the perfect answer to comfort at sea, space, stability, low running costs as well as a big step towards a clean wake.
