Zaha Hadid Design 2018 Collection Unveiled at Maison et Objet 2018 ⇒ In a career spanning four decades, Zaha Hadid‘s pioneering vision redefined architecture and design for the 21st century and captured imaginations across the globe. As part of Zaha Hadid Design‘s 2018 collection, Pulse – a glassware set – was unveiled at Maison et Objet 2018 in Paris, sustaining Hadid’s power of invention.

Collaborating with the world’s most iconic brands to create exquisite one-off, as well as limited-edition pieces, Hadid’s works are within some of the world’s most respected museum collections and have been showcased in acclaimed retrospective exhibitions worldwide.

She created the “Zaha Hadid” label for her signature design pieces; each informed and inspired by her renowned architectural repertoire. Zaha Hadid design was established by the architect herself in 2006, pushing the boundaries of contemporary design by using technological and material advancements. Its portfolio, comprised of a wide range of design disciplines like fashion accessories, jewellery, limited edition furniture pieces, exhibitions and set-designs, showcases her obsession with fluid lines and subtle, organic geometries.

Zaha Hadid Design developed the new collection reinterpreting the relationships inherent throughout Hadid’s architecture. “My product designs and architecture have always been connected; some of our earliest projects were designs for products and interiors. These design pieces are very important to me and my team. They inspire our creativity by providing an opportunity to express our ideas through different scales and through different media; an essential part of our on-going design investigation”, Hadid explained during her retrospective exhibition at the Guggenheim Museum, New York.

The 2018 Collection conveys the unrivalled innovation within her work. Designed with Hadid’s unwavering belief in the power of invention in a diversity of materials both traditional and contemporary.

The Pulse glass vessels differ in height and colour, yet are unified by the textural contrast between smooth and “pleated” glass. Displaying the glass blower’s expertise and craftsmanship in the creation of ripples across only a portion of the circumference, the vessels give the illusion of simplicity while encompassing the detailed exploration within Zaha Hadid’s pioneering work.
