August 12, 2016

The Sam Hill Mansion is the most luxury home in Seattle, proudly sitting on top of a hill at 814 E. This neoclassical mansion once owned by its namesake, businessman and philanthropist Samuel Hill, is now the most expensive luxury Home in Seattle. The stunning residence was designed by architecture firm Hornblower & Marshall around 1908.

This beautiful property has a massive renovation that the current owners did after purchasing. Though the massive renovation works on this historic estate, the exterior looks approximately the same as the early 2oth Century, on the other hand, the interior has changed significantly.

The architecture is renewed by the Stuart Silk Architects and interior design from Garret Cord Werner Architects and Interior Designers and landscape design by Richard Hartledge. The modern version of Sam Hill Mansion represents a slick and cohesive fusion of Old World styling and deeply modern touches.

The new owners bought this gorgeous property by $15 million. Inside you can see original steel beams throughout the dining room, a master suite featuring the original floors and a fireplace, with gas-lit lamps that illuminate the grounds, and a gym.

The oldest working sundial in Seattle happens to be located on the property and it’s listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The house itself is on that list as well, which is the reason why the taxes are high: $3,003.
