These days Louis Vuitton is making its debut on the rugby pitch, as the brand makes up a creation of a bespoke case to hold the Webb Ellis Cup, rugby’s greatest prize.

Louis Vuitton is collaborating for the first time with the Rugby World Cup to design a case for the Webb Ellis Cup, the sport’s biggest prize.

This case was designed with the travel purpose, as inside there will be the sterling silver and gold-plate trophy. Concerning the design, it is covered in Louis Vuitton’s monogram canvas and has been fitted with the company’s signature brass lock and corners.

In addition to this, precisely tailored to the silver and gold-plated trophy’s exact proportions, the Louis Vuitton case was crafted at the historic Asnières workshop near Paris. . The workshop is a spot where the heritage of the house still remains strong, presided over by Patrick-Louis Vuitton, Asnières has known five generations of Vuitton skill.

World Rugby chairman Bernard Lapasset said that the cup is: “a symbol of unity, enjoyment, participation and excellence. We are excited about our collaboration with a fashion house as renowned as Louis Vuitton and delighted with the stunning, modern-classic case.”
