This article focuses on one of those promising Italian designers: Federico Peri. For this special event he will receive mentoring by prestigious designer Luca Nichetto, but the truth is that Peri is one of the most experienced designers of the lot. This Milanese designer studied in Paris and has worked in several galleries and design companies around Europe. His rich past work experience has allowed him to develop his passion for multifunctionality, one of his biggest trademarks.
Peri is also a lighting aficionado, so you can expect to see at Maison et Objet 2018 a powerful collection full of pieces that appeal to multifunctionality with the help/collaboration of light. But why did Peri decided to become a designer?

We can find that answer in an interview he recently gave to Maison et Objet and where he reveals that his passion for interior design started when he was just a child. He revealed that, as a child, he would often play whole afternoons in his grandparents’ factory with metal offcuts. His first creations were produced at this factory and, a few later, he managed to transform a simple hobby into a promising career.

Earlier we mentioned that Luca Nichetto is mentoring Perri for his presentation at Maison et Objet 2018 and, according to Peri, he is thankful for his mentoring. In the interview, Peri states that it was a great honor to be nominated for the Rising Talent Awards by a great figure like Luca Nichetto. He even says that Nichetto is nothing short of a model for the new generations of designers like himself.
As for his presentation at Maison et Objet, Perri didn’t reveal much, but when asked how he defines he work in three words he answered “Research, function, and context”. It’s obvious we can expect great things from this young Italian designer.
