The first day of the tradeshow Maison et Objet was well-organized and full of ultimate design from different brands and designers. One of the most important event was the conference where the designer of the year at Maison et Objet 2016 in Paris presented himself and his incredible design objects.

At the conference Eugeni Quitllet was telling more about his design creations and the process of design as well. To design a product isn’t sufficient for Eugeni Quitllet. He needs to give soul to each piece, an own dimension where it can live on. When he is working on a new product, he focuses on how it looks and works inside. What happens with what is not visible.

Besides, his designs are projected to be part of the environment and they are made to have a crucial rule where they are placed to be used.

Frame is one chair that features perfectly all the characteristics already mentioned. The structure of this chair frames a valuable object, a complexed shape that took 3 years to achieve this final result.

He worked in different projects for different brands, among baccarat, fóssil and others. Curves, notion of deep, and complex structures defines his work.

The designer of the year rejects an object that has only one direction. Eugeni Quitllet keeps working on a project until he develops something meaningful.

During the fair at M&O, Eugeni Quitllet will present an exhibition entitled ‘From one-off pieces to infinity’, where he will present the result of his latest collaborations:

– unique piece made in collaboration with Neal Feay ” DREAM CATCHER”, that will be discovered on show.
-New projects with Lexon;

-A new coloration with Habitat, “Stone” Chair, that will be launched in September 2016;
-A fire vase EVA with designerbox;
-A new bar stool Brooklyn” with Vondom that will be in production in April.
