Spanish by birth, and Italian by choice, Patricia Urquiola is one of the most coveted interior designers in the world and the keywords for her work are rigour and emotion, innovation and mental comfort. One of her most recent luxury furniture projects is in collaboration with Kettal. The idea behind the Band Armchair for Kettal is the breakdown of structure, an object designed using an ensemble of pieces. The chair’s design intentionally challenges the classic sophisticated lines of furniture design and becomes something schematic, a conceptual program. A structure made up of repetitive angular shapes that give centre stage to its raw materials and can be formed entirely of aluminium or teak wood, and of parallel fabrics. The collection also includes a dining chair.
Emiliano Salci and Britt Moran invested in their individual experience with the profession and study of Design, Art and Fashion, and founded DIMORESTUDIO in 2003. Since that moment, they have designed and carried out every project in a personal and recognizable way. At Milan Design Week 2019, Dimore Studio established an amazing collaboration with Dior. This was an exclusive collection between these two companies, where they created objects that resembled the surrealism and cubism art. Their focus sat on the concept of different metals such as gold, silver, and bronze, creating incredible luxury Italian furniture pieces.

Lissoni and his multinational team thus comprehensively cover these areas, completing them with graphics, art direction and corporate identity. Karim Rashid’s design impresses because of the quantity (over 3000 pieces produced, 300 prizes and presence in 40 countries), diversity (furniture design, spaces, product, new technology, lighting, packaging, fashion, identity, surfaces and not only) and modernity and it’s this versatility that led him to focus in Italy, as well as France in Canada. Rashied studied in Italy and that’s why his style is influenced by the Italian style of design. One of the design legends that recently left us is Alessandro Mendini. This top product designer was one of the fathers of modern Italian design and, during his long and prestigious career, he helped shape the incredible Italian furniture industry and its amazing craftsmanship. Famed for designs that include the Proust Armchair, an iconic piece of luxury Italian furniture, Mendini was one of those legends who were at the front row of the radical design of the Italian Modernity movement that started in the 1960s.
