The year 1955 and the city of Dublin witnessed the birth of one of the best interior designers in the XX and XXI century: David Collins. With a degree at Bolton Street School of Architecture (following his father’s footsteps), Collins travelled to London, where he settled. And it was in Great Britain’s capital that he would catch the eye of Pierre Koffmann, who was amazed at a redecoration project Collins had developed in one of his friends’ house. CovetED is here to let you know all about the designer, are you ready? Come and find out more about the projects!

His innovative creative vision gave place to David Collins Studio, where David and his business partner, Iain Watson, brought a new form of thinking to the design industry. A combination of aesthetics, rationale and attention to details set the tone, influenced by giants like Le Corbusier or Mies Van Der Rohe, in projects full of elegance and sophistication.
The reinvention of the past and the deeply textured interiors are part of David Collins legacy, in hotels, restaurants, retail and residential houses. And although he sadly left us in 2013, after twenty-eight years in the interiors business, this legacy of him never stopped and continues nowadays. CovetED will always remember you, David.
