Raf Simons, the chief designer of Christian Dior presented his brilliant, beautiful and breathtaking Autumn 2015 couture collection. The goal of the show was to transform into clothes the famous painting by Hieronymus Bosch : “The Garden of Earthly Delights” that we can find in Madrid, Museo del Prado, and indeed, he did. Simons mix past and future, earth and heaven, high culture with pop culture. For him, Haute Couture means the art of manipulation of all his inspirations, the time and place don’t matter.
For this fall he showed cape-like coats with single fur sleeves, draped cowl collars, the seventies silhouette, that gave the sharp and impressive touch, and also the glittered up platform sandals. He just put his outfits through different centuries and because of that his Couture show makes us imagine the time-travel through the Flemish Masters, the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. The coats were the highest and the most important point of this innovative collection.

Among the celebrities we could see Lupita Nyong in her short, cherry-red Dior couture dress and also Emily Blunt in a simple, white knee-length Dior gown. They were both amazed by the way Simons transformed the place into the painting. Emily Blunt said “This is just extraordinary, This is kind of why I would walk from London to Paris to see this show. I’m so excited.”
He put his show in a surreal garden, inside the Rodin Museum just like in the famous painting “The Garden of Earthly Delights”. It was a giant cube of Perspex, hand-painted in a blur of soft lilacs and greens, which glowed and shimmered in the light, like the dresses he presented.

Simons commented “I was intrigued by the idea of forbidden fruit, and what that meant now. The idea of purity and innocence versus luxury and decadence and how that is encapsulated by the idea of Dior’s Garden.”. He continued with the words “This Garden in no longer a flower garden, but a sexual one.”.
Dior made, one more time, without a doubt the exquisite dresses, but with the luxurious sensitive touch for rich woman.
