You Can’t Miss the Best Off Lisbon Fashion Week 2018 – The Lisbon Fashion Week is an evergrowing event in the fashion industry. The gorgeous Portuguese capital has been battling over the years for a seat at the fashion adult table for years, and they’ve been successful. This edition, big Portuguese names in the industry presented their new collections for the upcoming F/W seasons. And CovetED Magazine didn’t miss a bit…
Nuno Gama is, regarded by many, the best Portuguese designer when it comes to using his cultural influence in his creations. Born and raised in Porto, Portugal, the talented designer who, in his curriculum, as a partnership with the famous car brand MINI, brought all of his creativity to Lisbon and gave it all in an incredible runway show.
Dark shades reigned on his show, as long trenchcoats kept it sleek.
At the end of the show, the designer decided to pay tribute to Zé Pedro, a famous Portuguese guitar player who has recently passed away. Despite that, Nuno made sure he left his mark in this edition of the Fashion Week, drawing inspiration from the Portuguese Northern region.
As for Valentim Quaresma, the designer showed once again why he is a rising talent. Growing up as an artist every time his models step on the runway, Quaresma decided to tackle the sparkly side of the 2018 fashion trends.
The multi-talented designer also showed his eye for trends, as he showed several long, turtle-necked dark draped dresses.
Awarded in 2007 with the Golden Globe as the best Portuguese fashion designer, he has created since the same year the showcases for the Hermès stores in Lisbon and Algarve, and for Fashion Clinic in Lisbon and Oporto. In 2011, the designer develops a partnership with the Triumph lingerie brand, which ran until 2014.
A crowd-favourite, the designer presented probably the freshest collection in the event. With a creamy palette, the designer played with the ‘sun-dress’ concept, adding Polkadotted socks and finishing of the looks with some hip sunglasses or hipster shoes.
